Steve,

You may be right about the sales/marketing relationship. Being a techie, I
don't make these decisions but I can make some educated guesses. We have a
multi-platform (i.e. non platform specific) product, so it doesn't surprise
me that our marketing is targeted at non platform specific publications and
conferences. Frankly, I think our Central product is under-marketed on
*all* platforms, but being a development manager in our Central group may
mean that I'm biased :).

I've talked to Jamie personally about this matter and he's unaware of any
calls or email from you. Perhaps we can discuss where things went awry
off-list. I don't believe that your experience is typical and now that it's
been brought to my attention we'll do what we can to remedy the situation.

One thing we can certainly agree on is Martin. He is the primary source of
HP3000 advocacy within JetForm and I don't know what we would do without
him. I hope we never have to find out.

Regards,
Rob

warning - rant to follow!!

you said:Fantasia is sold by JetForm and is a separate product from our
other (former) product JetForm Central for the HP3000. We have recently
announced that we won't be releasing any further versions of Central for the
HP3000 (a decision that personally saddens me, but the sales numbers for the
3000 just
aren't supporting the effort).

Maybe your sales numbers for the 3000 are low because the JetForm marketing
to the 3000 community is non-existent! In my dealings as chairman of
Interex's SigPrint, I have found JetForm to be all be dismissive of the 3000
community. Calls and emails to the product line manager for 3000 products
(last I heard it was Jamie Edwards) have not been returned. JetForm has not
been to the last two (or three) HPWorld Conferences, which tells me they
really don't care about the 3000 market. Thank goodness we still have Martin
Gorfinkel under contract with JetForm to keep supporting Fantasia!
Otherwise, I feel the product will be totally neglected.
