Hello Listers,
First, thank you to all who responded to my SLOW system messages. I'll be
tuning our main databases with help from HOWMESSY - I'd forgotten we had a
copy in the Adager account.
Secondly, the problem has been resolved, at least for now. It appears that
a connection from one of the PC's on the LAN was sending a signal to the
hub that goes out to the Internet over an ISDN line, causing congestion
which backed up to the DTC . Couldn't reset the DTC - download failed each
time.
Upon jiggling the wires in the ceiling, the errant PC was isolated and
fixed. The hub ceased to show any signal, and the DTC downloaded its
software. Final result - my HP3000 is once again humming along like the
great machine it is!
BTW, HPRC was great - quick response, several suggestions and attempts to
correct the problem.
Thanks again,
Connie
