I've been through this one and finally got some help from the Response Center
over a year ago. The problem is due to the two intrinsics hitting two different
clocks. I don't remember the real fix. The problem appeared when we replaced our
925 board with a 935 that sat on a shelf somewhere. It was an adventure.

I'm sorry that I can't put my finger on the exact solution, but I remember the
problem.

Greetings,

I had noticed an interesting discrepancy between the results of CURRENT-DATE
and FUNCTION CURRENT-DATE operations in COBOL.

It seems that DISPLAY CURRENT-DATE returns '04/01/97', while FUNCTION
CURRENT-DATE returns '19930113'. Please note that the DATELINE intrinsic
agrees with CURRENT-DATE and returns
'TUE, APR 1, 1997, 12:39 PM'.

Can anyone explain the reasons for the difference?

Thanks,
Igor Yasno
