Gentle Listers,

An update on things.

I have received 4 notes expressing interest in having ODBC access from Mac
clients to HP 3000-based ALLBASE/SQL and IMAGE/SQL. I am not hopeful that it
is enough to warrant further investigation, but I will pass the results on to
Simba Tech.

On another note, Bruce correctly pointed out he never claimed that MacIntosh
works so well because it is 'not an open system'. My mistake. However, I
did receive my HP SCSI disc drive, and I installed it in my home-made Windows
NT server. It came to life right away, and after testing overnight, I
installed Windows NT Server 3.51w/ NTFS and BackOffice 2.0 on the new system
without a hitch and everything is running just fine. Boy that puppy is fast!
133Mhz Intel CPU, PCI Triton Chipset, 32Megs RAM, 256kb L2 cache, Adaptec
2940 PCI-SCSI Host adapter, HP 3725S SCSI 2.14gb disc drive, 4.5X SCSI
Plextor CD-ROM and ADM PCI Ethernet adapter.

One final note. The Windows 95 powertoys now contain an HTML-printer which
allows one to generate HTML pages from any application that prints. I am
going to try this with Reflection connected to my HP 3000. It should be fun
posting these pages. I will let you know.

Kind regards,

Denys. . .
