It's well worth noting that this effect is causing many shops to get away
from their IBM mainframes, as well...it's probably the biggest reason many
do so, aside from the lack of fashion involved.
IBM is fighting back by producing competitive software with prices that
match actual use, or the capacity of only the portion of the system that
it's used on; the ISVs are screaming, but some of them are moving that
direction, as well.
