Once again, when your own bias matches that of the news media, it feels
natural and so you do not see the bias.

But your surprise may be caused by what you are looking for. There are
many ways to slant the news which do not involve putting posters of Karl
Marx in the set background.

One area our news media's bias is most often demonstrated is by
omission. A conservative politician can make the slightest verbal slip
in an offhand comment and it is trumpeted for weeks. But let a liberal
politician call conservative African American judicial nominees
Neanderthals, the lieutenant governor of California use the 'N' word to
a black audience, a New York senator accused of lying about meeting with
9/11 victim families and the news media does not see it as newsworthy.

Liberal politicians are declared geniuses while conservative politicians
are labeled idiots.

Liberals are often interviewed solo but a conservative can only be
interviewed if a Liberal is included to 'balance' the conservative
views.

There have been many books written that can give explicit examples of
all these types of biased coverage, but I do not expect you would be
interested in reading them.

I have to admit it took me quite a while to stop laughing at this
sentence. But it really should have been flagged as Humor if you wanted
the entire list to enjoy it.

Comments are my own, not my employer's... Etc.
