using WHOIS find out the ISP sponsering these sites, complain to them.
Ifthat fails java bomb the web site and take it down. If they don't have
a web stie they can't advertise it. It will take them time to re-build
their web page after it has been bombed. if you want to get nasty you
could have the Java change the authorites on their directories so they
can't fix it. (yes, this sounds like terrorism, but isn't spamming!)

I don't know what the original message was. I'm sure someone found it
either offensive or a waste of time. That is really a shame.

Just three weeks ago this site was host to a posting with a malicious
racial slur in the title. One of the Listers wrote that since the
message contained a threat he was turning it over to the FBI. Here we
are a scant few weeks later and our own listers are using expressions
like, " It's time that they kill such people."

The response this elicits is also a threat with actual suggestions on
how to commit the act. I do not know what the legal precedents sighted
mean but I am sure they don't say you are allowed to kill someone for
spamming, not even for selling child porn.

I am sure some out there is saying about right now about me, "Damn
Hippie Scum. Go back to the Sixties were ya belong!" The point is this
is not about liberal or conservative its about this listserver. I am not
here to debate the relative merits of the cause. It makes no difference
if you are the good guys or the bad guys, threats are threats.

I am here to say that I gain a lot of professional knowledge from this
List. It is a place I can go to get answers to question I have and to
learn about problems I have not yet encountered. If I want a political
chat room, I, ll find one. * I want a professional list as related to
HP3000. *

I don't know the law covering listservers. I do know that on the public
airwaves you are not allowed to issue threats. It may be that some
discretionary body may decide to close down this list because of  the
threatening language used in some of the postings. Who knows? I don't
want to take the risk.

Please stop all the pejorative! Please stop all the threats!
