I've been using Samba for several years with only minor problems. However,
today I wanted to add DNS capability to this machine and now Samba does not
work.

Here's what I did:

- created reslvcnf.net.sys file with

     domain paccoast.com
     nameserver xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
     nameserver xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
     nameserver xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx

- replaced the hp node name (in this case gonzo.paccoast.hplan) in the
domain section of NMMGR with paccoast.com, then validated
- did NETCONTROL UPDATE=INTERNET;NET=LAN1

And I had DNS! Resolved names within NETTOOL PING just fine, could ftp out
on the Internet just fine.

Then for other(?) reasons, we had a system problem and had to reboot the
machine, which of course re-started the network. Now the Samba server job
does not work. After the job quits, the log file (log.smb) contains the
following entries:

Added interface ip=172.24.64.1 bcast=172.24.64.255 nmask=255.255.255.0
Get_Hostbyname: Unknown host. paccoast
Get_Hostbyname: Unknown host paccoast.

I've tried putting everything back the way it was (have not been able yet to
stop and re-start the network) to no avail.

Any thoughts?
