We are experimenting with several here... as we are starting the
migration (corporate wide.... the safe way!) to PC's from terminals...
Reflection (currently used... but looking at needing to buy 40-100 copies in
the next year very expensive :( ), Minisoft... less cost and good product
but still a cost... and QCTerm ... good product and no cost.... [...]38_3May200009:24:[log in to unmask]

I have the same setup on one of my systems. We use Security/3000 menus so no
user gets a colon prompt, nor can they run anything but the items defined in
their menu... so, I setup a command file (for users we allow to) that prompts
for a pc filename and a host file (checking that they're allowed access to
that file...ie only certain groups are allowed) then the command file sends
the appropriate escape sequences to trigger their terminal emulator to perform
a file download. We have command files that work for MS92 and Reflection.
Since the command file checks the files beforehand, it gives our users file
download capability, while maintaining security. It also works over serial,
modem, or network connections. And the don't even need to access a pull-down
menu.
