As a lunchtime "play-around" exercise, I downloaded java115.tar.gz from the
3k Website, gunzipped it
and "tar -xf"-fed it. Loads of html docs for the various classes and
packages but no README file or
WHAT2DONOW file in there. It even creates a nice MPE Account called JAVA
which MPE doesn't
recognise as an Account.. viz...

MIS/SYS(MANAGER)/PUB>LISTF @[log in to unmask],2

Hmmm...

OK. So what do I do now? I've read all the stuff on the Jazz Webpages and
it looks kinda
out of date to me. It makes references to a command called setenv which
exists neither in
MPE nor the POSIX shell. I am now confused. All I want to do is be able to
compile and
run simple Java programs from the CI..

So what do I do next? Am I the only one to which the setup for this stuff
isn't "obvious"?

TIA

Mark Wilkinson.

PS. I did the same for Apache recently and it was a breeze. I had the whole
 thing up and running in
less than 30 mins.
