I have problems with DEVCTRL on the DLT7000
is it does NOT have a tape in the drive.

At boot time I don't normally have tapes in the DDS
drives, and the DEVCTRL works fine.

donna,
1. DEVCTRL does not need to be "reset" from until the system is rebooted.
2. DEVCTRL does not work if a tape is mounted in the drive.
3. I have had problems getting DEVCTRL to work is SYSSTART.
4. I have only used DEVCTRL with DDS (2 & 3) so DLT may be different. (I
don't see why but who knows.)
5. My guess is that DEVCTRL works with HW compression since it is
controlling the device but that is only a guess.
