In order to validate the users input to insure that the device that was
entered is a valid spooled device (or at least currently spooled), I have
used FFILEINFO item 38 and 78 as follows: [...]39_12Feb199700:44:[log in to unmask]

Rob,

Yes. It will take a workstation (a PC) which is running a Reflection
Basic script, which is started when you leave, and it waits until the
desired time to perform the transfer.

Another way to do this, by the way, is to use FTP. A job can be scheduled
to FTP the file from the HP to the Netware server. All that is really
needed on the server is Novell Flex/IP for this capability, and not a
full-fledged upgrade to IntraNetware (although this will also give you
this capability), and the server needs to have TCP/IP loaded so that the
server is talking TCP/IP. You also, of course, would need to give it an
IP address.

The benefit of FTP over using a Reflection Basic script is that (1) you
don't need to keep a workstation turned on and logged on --- which would
be a security issue, and (2) the 3000 is controlling the transfer using
scheduled jobs and requires no human intervention --- reliability.

Hope this helps. If you'd like more information on how to do this, let me
know via private e-mail and I can give you some help on how I've done this
in the past.

Best Regards,
Joe Geiser
