Hello Brian,

Sorry for replying sooo late.. I am getting slammed at work, which I guess is a good thing.

>> I followed your instructions from the posting which I had missed. Works fine now without
>> the OVERRIDE option.

great!

>> 1) I ran nsstatus.net -- it gave me version B0400001

Please send a :nmmaint,6

We might need to take a pre-emptive strike against this and install the GR NSS patch with FORCE in PATCHIX or with AUTOPAT to get this straight before we try to install the Power Patch.

>>2) If I do the 6.5 PP3 upgrade again will it work without the system hanging on me again?

Well... I would have to get a magic ball out and guess at this point as we don't have a dump, analysis, etc. to be certain why the system hung the first time you tried to goto PP3. We can guess that it was due to the version miss-match and that probably would be a pretty good guess, but we can not be certain.

>>3) Can you tell me what the "UPDATE=ALL" option means when I start up the network?
>> Do I need to use this option when firing up the network?

The update=all option is not used often... It is most useful to flush and update cache for Name to IP address and IP address to Mac address.

  Thanks for the email.

I followed your instructions from the psoting which I had missed. Works fine now without
  the OVERRIDE option.

  Questions for you, tho --

  1) I ran nsstatus.net -- it gave me version B0400001

Is this the current version of the networking software or do I need an upgrade?

  2) If I do the 6.5 PP3 upgrade again will it work without the system hanging on me again?

  3) Can you tell me what the "UPDATE=ALL" option means when I start up the network?
Do I need to use this option when firing up the network?

  Thanks,
  Brian.

Hmmm... Didn't we come up with an action plan to resolve this twice
    before???
