I came across these quotes the other day. The first two indicate the way
things have changed while next two show how they remain the same.
Wendell Willkie (Republican Presidential Candidate 1940, 1944)
"There exists in the world today a gigantic reservoir of good will toward us

George W. Bush 20 September 2001:

Woodrow Wilson

and
