If memory serves me correctly <fingers crossed> then it's called JOBTEST and
can be found on the CSL. Used it at a previous site.

Most apps I've seen don't check for "standard" syntax -- they parse
input stream files for special syntax they understand. MPEX and many
batch management apps (Maestro, JobQue, etc.) do this. Someone can
correct me, but I don't think I've ever seen a pre-processor that's this
detailed -- a jobstream "compile for syntax" type of thing.
Hmmmm. Nice idea though. Bet it wouldn't be too hard to script
something like this...

Do you mean checking for syntax errors before STREAMing or after
execution?
If the latter, SPOOLMATE's ANALYZER can be set up to look for
particular
strings.
