Not only digest mode...you are making *EVERYONE* on the HP3000-L mailing
list pay the cost of receiving them and, at least temporarily, storing them
on their hard disk.  Similarly for sites that maintain news databases
and search engines.

I'd suggest simply making them available in some OPTIONAL manner, like
putting them on a web page, or just saying "such and such is available,
please email me if you want me to email it to you".

I use elm.

Yes, but it's annoyingly difficult...often requiring multiple keystrokes
and (shudder) some thought put into reading the message the mailer gives
me about my choices.
