Hell no.

One of our country's strategies is to encourage other nations to become
more Democratic so that their currently oppressed minorities will have
more say-so about their affairs.

To the extent that we are already a Democracy, it is not only our right
but our duty to speak up about our leaders' (plural) actions. Isn't
that what we want for the oppressed Iraqians(sp)?

I've heard several presidents "accept responsibility" for various
actions. I have yet to see accountability actually occur. JFK for the
Bay of Pigs. Johnson & Nixon for Vietnam. Reagan for the Beirut bombing
and deaths of 258(?) Marines. Clinton & Bush senior for their
justice-serving pardons.

The phrase "accept responsibility" has little meaning at the Federal
level. Or haven't you noticed?
