I left so many important details out.
The printer is a Laserjet 4100.
I have not tried pinging the printer. I shall try that later today.
I asked the network engineers who connected the hardware if a gateway needed
to be configured on the server, and was told it is not necessary for a
printer. Is this correct? There is a gateway configured for the other remote
location.
I'm not sure what a routing table is, or where it is. Is it in NMMGR?
The hardware is connected like this:
Printer - - - - - Hub - - - - - DSL modem - - - - - Pacific Bell
Thanks for your help
