Hi Jim,
In the past, I have tried to open ports 80 and 23 - but that did not work (I
think I had the same symptoms as you: after entering the password, the
message flashed so quickly that I couldn't read it). I was not able to
figure out what was wrong, even doing analysis with Wireshark (I was
probably not on the right side of the firewall.) When I opened all ports, it
worked, and, thankful for that, I quit. <<rolls eyes>>

Also, it appears to me that once you get past login on the SWC that there is
something in the packet payload that gets upset if there is ANY address
translation going on. If the SWC's real address is not the address that you
use to access it, than it will not work (in my experience, at least.)

Subject: [HP3000-L] Secure Web Console

I have a Secure Web Console that worked fine on our original network.

As you may or may not know, Longs Drugs was purchased by CVS. We are
now switching over to the CVS network.
When connected to the CVS switch, I can get the Secure Web Console to
respond and give me the logon screen. I enter the user name and password
but all I get is the small box that says (I believe) "Logon in prgress"
and it never comes back and does not seem to even error out.

Yes, I have reconfigured the IP properly or it would not respond with
the first page. Since this I could not find success, I put the web
console back on the Longs switch (after reconfiguring it again) and it
works fine again.

While there is a firewall out there on the CVS network, the PC I am
going from and the Web Console are connected to the same switch and are
not passing through the firewall.

In addition, CVS has configured the ports 80 and 443 as these are the
ports I could identify that the web console are using.

Does anybody know more ports that should be open (although this should
not be the problem)?

Thanks in advance for any advice you can give.

Hans,

If you're using HP TurboStore, add the files STORXL51.PUB.SYS and
STORXL52.PUB.SYS to the CSLT you're using for the reload. (I like to
add
EDITOR.PUB.SYS also.)

I like to have output from SYSINFO.PRVXL.TELESUP available.
