Apparently the OpenSSL distribution on jazz only supplies man-style man pages
and does not include the cat-style ones expected by vanilla MPE.
Real man-style man pages use real man macros (as opposed to pre-formatted
cat-style man pages which use no macros). The gcc bundle at
http://jazz.external.hp.com/src/gnu/gnuframe.html comes with a little
/usr/local/bin/ts script to do the required macro expansion:
INVENT3K:/usr/local/bin$ cat ts
#!/bin/sh
/usr/local/bin/groff -man -e -t -Tascii $5
If you don't want to install the gcc stuff just to view the OpenSSL man pages,
browsing to http://www.openssl.org/docs/ might be sufficient as long as you
remember that what's on jazz is several years old compared to openssl.org.
