I suspect one or both of the following:

1. You MUST ensure the "number of non-nailed terminals", in the "Host
Configuration Screen" of NMMGR is greater - preferably equal to the maximum
number of telnet and/or non-nailed VTMGR sessions you expect to have
connected to this HP3000.

2. You MUST ensure that the non-nailed profile name in the same screen is
given that of a profile which has been configured as a modem-type terminal
profile. TR10U12 would be a good example. (I'm assuming here that that is
one that is suppied with the standard set of profiles that comes with every
HP3000).

If you have configured these correctly, then it's some other problem. Let
us know and we can take it from there.
