Ole,
I had once the following task:
I had to print company logo to small labels printed out from a Clipper
program from DOS. I got the logo as drawing as an ambedded in a Word DOC
file. I printed out the doc as a PRN file for the appropriate printer then
transformed the drawing to a laserprinter macro definiton file. The
Clipper program downloaded the macro by a DOS statement "Copy /b macrodef
prn:") before it
printed the labels.
The labels contained only printer macro calls like "[Esc]&f21y2X".
It was very important in my case that the print position from the number
of characters in the label expression be equal to the real print positions
because 3 labels were in a line.
I placed source code the Turbo Pascal 6.0 program which makes macro from
the printout file on my web directory:

You need three virtues in the life:
1. strength - to change the things which are changeable,
2. patience - to endure the things which are unchangeable,
3. wisdom - to distinguish the above two kinds of things.
