Looks like I did need to do a stop/start of the network, although I don't have the ability to do the reboot right now.
Thanks to all who assisted in getting this resolved. If they had flash drives 15 years ago I would have had notes on this since that was about the last time I had to do surgery on network settings. All the paper notes I made back then have been lost in the dreaded MIS black hole.

I would do that at the least...if it's not intrusive, a reboot to start out with a clean slate never hurts.

So I updated all the old addresses and did a netcontrol update=all;net=lan1. I thought maybe the dup IP addresses would have resolved it, but I still have a problem. Do I need to stop/start the network services?
