A theocracy is not a government appointed by a God, just that the ruling
parties are heavely influenced by religon. The United States of America in
it's beginnings was a Theocracy. The idea of seperation of Church and
State in this country has eroded over the years. The majority of the
founding fathers, Washington, Jefferson, Adams ,Madison where diests.
During the 18th century it was a popular religon for the educated, hence
the Age Of Reason, they all reasoned that religon had its place in society
but not a dominate force like it was under the likes of Cardinal Richeleu
and Cromwell and Ferdinand/Isabella of Spain. But Alas even the Age of
Reason failed us as the French revolution took a turn for the worse under
Napoleon, he had righted the ship but his ego would kill the spirit.
