Eric,
Quite simply with all the work done in client/server computing (Allbase,
Image/SQL, HPOpenDesk, HTML, etc...) the number of VT sessions are reducing
tremendously, while our socket usage is growing exponentially. Even look at the
newest contributions using sockets to handle MPE commands via socket
connections... Further, I question how VT will play against Telnet...
Also, we have reduced the number of DTC ports as well since virtually all our
printers and devices are directly on the network. In the long run the only use
for DTC ports will be for dialup modems, and a few stray terminals...
