1458 is:
   :debug
   = errmsg (#1458, #98) /* yes, #98 */
'A critical process is being terminated due to a trap.'

> SECONDARY STATUS: INFO=-300 ; SUBSYS=107

-300/107 is:
   VSM_ERR_OBJECT_NOT_FOUND

...no, that wasn't visible via errmsg :(

> ALERT LEVEL: 12 = SOFTWARE FAILURE

I've got no idea what that's from.

> Do you guys know what the problem might be?

Someone in critical code tried to find an object, and couldn't,
and aborted the process. But, since the process was critical, that
takes the system down (SA 1458).

In what manner were you "unable" to read it? Was the tape readable?
Did you run DAT and do GETDUMP? What error did you get?

How did you take the dump: control-B, TC, and then ISL> DUMP
or control-B, RS (which destroys any possible dump),
or ?
