I just put a machine back on support with HP. The original quote listed
paper manuals and I had to convince them that they had been producing CD-ROM
manuals. They double checked and I got a new quote with CD-ROM. The
quoting system evidently no longer lists a CD-ROM manual option. In the
discussions we speculated that the change of format from 'LaserROM' to HTML
(or whatever they are now going to use) has obsoleted the LaserROM option.
The new option has not yet been entered. In any case, I am expecting to
receive a CD. Otherwise, what did I just pay for?

The idea that the web is available to everyone is ok, until you hop on a
plane or ride in a car and try to work at the same time. I can get alot of
work done offline and that sometimes means referencing a manual. The web
based manual set is not online yet either.
