If I remember correctly this is how we did it at the last place where
     I worked.   Now this will work for spool files sent to DEV=LP but not
     for DEV=6.  What you can do is to configure the port on the DTC with
     the device name of LP.  Next set the OUTFENCE for DEV=6 to 14
     (OUTFENCE 14;DEV=6).  This will cause anything sent to LP to print to
     port on the DTC because it will not print on DEV=6 because the
     OUTFENCE is set to 14.

We purchased an LPQ1000 to replace our 2564c system LP(HP-IB).  Is there a way f
or the system to be configured so this printer can be known as Ldev 6 even thoug
h it's a serial printer off of our DTC?

Anyone done this before?  We are on 5.5 patch 4.
