You have a lot of options..

Use ODBC to access the database/files on the HP3000 to get at the data
Transfer a file to the PC via Reflection file transfer
Transfer a file to the PC via FTP
Write a sockets program on the 3000 to gain access to the file
Use Samba to share the file to a Microsoft Network
Use a 3rd party product to share the file to a Unix network via NFS

What exactly do you want to get off the HP3000?

Cheers
