Does anyone know if it is possible to purchase parallel convertors for
2563B and 2934 printers. I have some extra printers I would like to use
on a small AS/400 by hanging them off terminals. These printers have
serial connections on them, now.

We have experimented with a serial-to-parallel box with only limited
success. Seems the XON/XOFF used by my 2563B is causing a problem with
the convertor. The printer will print the first page then hang after the
formfeed. The 2934s do have different settings than XON/XOFF but we have
not found the correct setting. Anyone know what setting would work for
the 2934s?

I have decided to re-cable our facility using a fiber-optic backbone with
twin-ax hubs in the production areas for terminals. Will be using
ethernet hubs in the office areas. SO, maybe an alternative for
continuing to use these printers would be some sort on 802.3 connection.

I would really hate to lose these printers. They have been very reliable.

TIA
Chip Dorman
