Its been 10+ years since I did this,
but if ldev2 is part of the system volume and you have data you do want to
recover,
you should be able to boot up into the ISL and use DISCUTIL to store
off any files onto tape - and once system is up,
use VOLUTIL's command RECOVER to restore them.
I'm am not sure what happens with files that are split between multiple
drives,
ie: parts on ldev2, and parts on ldev1.
System Utilities Reference Manual for DISCUTIL ch 6.
Volume Management for RECOVER ch 4 and 5.
Find them here
http://www.hpmmsupport.com/information_links/default.aspx#.UkV6e1NHbxq
under System Utilities, Utilities, and Volume Management.
Note that the RECOVER method has only 2 options to restore,
KEEP and NOKEEP. No file selection.
