Hello Friends:
Since nobody's replied in public to B. Burns' request, I thought I
might chip in a few obvious leads. (Best of luck in picking up the
pieces from the storm. I believe the Big Easy will bounce back, with
enough time.)
As for the resources -- For many years, Genisys has supported our
newsletter by advertising its used HP 3000 systems:

Pivital Solutions also handles used HP 3000s, and it was one of the
last authorized new HP 3000 resellers before HP de-commissioned the
whole 3000 sales business nearly two years ago:

Resource 3000's consortium also includes a hardware sales and support
operation, courtesy of R3K partner Ideal Computer Services:

OpenMPE, the user group serving 3000 sites exclusively now that
Interex has gone broke, has a good page of used 3000 equipment
brokers:

Of course, by now Burns has probably gotten several quotes e-mailed
in reply from the go-getters in the broker market.
918 systems do come up on eBay from time to time. There's an 918RX,
not an LX, being offered today on eBay by Cypress Technology for
$5,000, including a COBOL compiler and lots of other software
licenses -- which you probably don't need to pay for, since your
software licenses should be intact, even if the hardware is sunk.
But this last point leads me to wonder about HP's software
re-licensing policy in the face of hardware disasters. Back in 1999,
the vendor was claiming that a 3000's software licenses were tied to
the hardware, like license plates are tied to specific vehicles:

Has anybody out on the list had their software transferred off a 3000
system that did not survive a Katrina-like event? What steps did you
have to take with HP, or third parties?
>Hello. We have a business located in New Orleans. The roof of our
