I have got an old Hewlett Packard Scanjet 300x300dpi b/w scanner
including
the scanner I/O interface card. My problem is now that I do not have a
driver for windows 3.1, so that I have to run windows 1.0 when I use the
scanner. Could anyone tell, if there exists a driver, where I can obtain
it
from or send it directly to me.

Many thanks

I dug out an original ScanJet from our warehouse an found a set of
installation disks for Deskscan IIp (for the ScanJet IIp which came
later) in the box. Reading the readme file revealed that while the
Deskscan package doesn't directly support the original ScanJet it
does include drivers to support the older model from the included
'Photofinish' package. The HP part numbers on the disks are:

            Deskscan IIp disk 1&2 - C1792-15000
            Deskscan IIp disk 3&4 - C1792-15001
            Photofinish optional files - C1792-15002

I tried the Photofinish software after following the 'for original
ScanJet users' instructions and it worked just fine under windows 3.1
Thanks for reminding me to hook up the old ScanJet and get some use
out of it.
