I had posted previously about backup copies. One approach was to use
some utility to copy the first backup to a second tape. Our data center
admins are concerned that almost no one wants to "support" utilities
that copy their backups. Is this really an issue, or just another
unsupported utility that actually works? Shouldn't any utility that can
read a DAT tape read bits, and write bits, and not care at all what
those bits mean to their native OS? Or am I missing something here?
