The good news is that you can move the database structure, the data and the
programs that access them to UNIX and/or Windows.  We have a solution that
uses popular RDBMS's.  You can see details at
http://www.xformix.com/xform/xformmf.htm.  It involves the use of a complete
migration toolset.  For the database, you can also use HP Eloquence
www.hp-eloquence.com.  Other solutions include simply moving the data and,
in essence, rewriting the programs that access them or using proprietary
middleware and tools to make use of some of your existing code.  I'm sure
other people will pipe in with other alternatives as well.
