Greetings! I have recently joined the mailing list. FreeVT3K looks cool.
I am considering playing with the code in my spare time at home. However,
I do have a connectivity problem at the moment, and I wanted to see if any
of you could help.

I have an old Classic HP Series 37 at home. It is a great little (big)
box, but it has one critical flaw-- no LANIC card. Arrrgh! I so far have
been unable to find anyone with a used LANIC in stock, either... Since I
have not had luck with the LANIC, I am also looking for a chhheeeaapp
MPE/ix machine that I can rescue from a dumpster. (I have seen a few
selling for <= $500 lately, but I have been too late each time...)

In the mean time....

I read a bit and saw that there is an "ASNP" link available. It looks
like, once you have the link set up in sysdump, you configure it through
NNMGR. Now, I know that this isn't classic unix SLIP by any stretch of
the imagination. But, have any of you ever worked with ASNP, or do you
know if and where this protocol is documented? Does it put IP accross the
line, or some proprietary protocol? I'm wondering if a SLIP driver on
Linux or on the PC-ROUTE package could be morphed & warped enough to speak
ASNP? I wouldn't mind dedicating a cheap PC to act as a router/gateway if
I could get it to work...

Thanks,
lcl
