Teacher: Back when I was a student, we didn't get reserved parking spaces, and had to take personal responsibility for our work if we expected to get a good grade. And if we didn't, we had to anser to the Draft Board!

Teacher of the the Teacher: Well, back when I was a student, the professor expected you to be prepared. If called on and you didn't have a well-informed response you were "fair game" for the professor's wrath.

Teacher of the Teacher of the Teacher: That's nothing. We didn't have any G.I. Bill, and back in my day, only the most elite of the elite academically inclined were even allowed into college. If you couldn't make it, you were out on the street.

Teacher of the Teacher of the.....etc.: You all don't know the meaning of tough standards. We had to walk to class in the snow, and if you were late, too bad!

Sound familiar (or not)? In any case, a reminder:

The next Faculty/Staff Resource Group, for all faculty and professional staff is tomorrow at 2pm. The topic, generational differences and how they impact communication and understanding between profs and students, promises to be one to generate lively discussion.

We will meet in the Conference Rm. of the Counseling and Career Planning Center (335 Univ. Center, x4438). Prior notification is not required but would be helpful for the purpose of scheduling, refreshments, etc.

Please join us.

Thanks,

Ed Smith
