STREETS CLOSED FOR SPECIAL EVENT
The City Traffic Engineeršs office announced today the following:
Market Street between 3rd and 4th Street, Walnut Street from the south end
of the bridge to 3rd Street, eastbound 3rd Street from Market Street to
Mabel Street, northbound Mabel Street from 3rd Street to Battery Place, and
the inbound curb lane of Riverside Drive/Amnicola Highway from River
Terminal Road to just east of the Mabel Street exit will be closed from 7:15
a.m. until 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 6, 2004 for the Arthritis
Foundation Half Marathon. Runners will also be on North River Street,
Dickerson Street, Island Avenue, Sterling Avenue, Young Avenue, Terrace,
Carroll, Dorchester Street, Concord Street, and Riverview Road. These
streets will not be closed, but motorists are advised to watch for runners
in these areas.
