Is anyone having problems writing large files to DDS-2 tape drives?
We get this error 2-3 times a week while storing our databases,
"Store encountered media write error on LDEV 8 (S/R 1454)
Specifically, Store recieved error -40 from the I/O system (S/R
1557)."

Our hardware vendor keeps saying it is the drive that has gone bad.
We have swapped out the drives in this spot at least 4-5 times in a
7 month period. I don't believe it is the drive.

HP says it is a media problem. We use new tapes and have the
same problem. Also, we do not get this error on the other two
drives when doing our backups. I don't believe it's a media problem.

We do have two DDS-2's and 3-4 other disk drives on the same
channel. Does anyone have any ideas?
Doug.
