The dead power supply has just been replaced as of 1130 PST. My news server
is now being "firehosed" with a 48-hour "Big 8" newsfeed backlog.

I'd guesstimate that it will probably take 12-24 hours to catch up to realtime.
That refers to incoming new Usenet articles being gatewayed to HP3000-L;
incoming new HP3000-L articles gatewayed to Usenet will be transferred
immediately.
